Melanie Star Scot
Melanie has been in love with the entertainment industry since she was a small girl and told her mother, “I want to be a cimma-matogropher”. As an impatient 14 year old, she packed up her pony Misty and ran away from home, intending to travel the 3000 miles of back roads from North Carolina to Los Angeles alone. Hollywood had to wait a few decades but when she got her chance, her first film won many awards including a Bronze Telly award, a Best Actor award for David Topp at the Young Artists Awards in Hollywood and was purchased to air on the Shorts TV Channel for 3 years – uncommon accomplishments for a first time Director, Producer & Screenwriter. The winner of over 20 awards in total from various film festivals, Melanie has been heralded for her visual style of writing, heartfelt storylines and relatable, beloved characters. Her goal is to be a female version of Jon Favreau with her writing, producing, directing and acting.

Since its inception in 2012, Topp Scot Productions has produced four award-winning short films – all featurettes running approximately 30 minutes each. The first of the films, THE BOX, was purchased to air on the Shorts HD TV Channel for three years – a stellar and uncommon accomplishment for an unproven director and her newly formed production company. Director Melanie Star Scot has received accolades from many actors for her dedicated, thorough, professional style, the positive atmosphere on her sets and the courtesy and respect with which she treats all cast and crew. She has been called “an actors director” since she understands the pressure that actors are under and gives them the tools they need to succeed. On her last film, PHOENIX FULL THROTTLE, Melanie hired Liz Radley as editor, who has been film partners with Clint Eastwood for over 20 years. When Ms. Radley first saw the raw footage that Melanie sent her to edit, Ms. Radley replied with astonishment, “YOU are a very good director!”
Topp Scot Productions intends to continue creating stories that entertain, inspire and encourage featuring strong, compassionate characters in action/adventure/drama film and television that make people feel better after watching, with content that does not rely on superfluous violence or language or use the recent trend of dystopian themes. Our content is suitable for most viewers of all ages, ethnicities and genders and we will continually work to flip negative stereotypes and foster diversity and acceptance for the underrepresented: women (especially women over 40), people of color and the LGBTQ community. Using this model, Topp Scot intends to become a respected creator in producing high-quality, meaningful entertainment on a global scale through major broadcast networks like ABC, NBC, CBS, Disney, Paramount, HBO, FX, and web television providers/streamers like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Paramount, Apple, Hulu, Peacock and others.

EDEN FALLS
In the stunning Highlands of the Blue Ridge, in an unknown small town situated on The Appalachian Trail, the quiet life of the residents of Eden Falls is about to go through an upheaval. A hometown hero returns to be the new Sheriff, not realizing the girl he'd left behind had been pregnant; the new doctor arrives, with no one expecting him to be black; and when an A-list celebrity opens an opulent golf resort, the resulting population explosion creates many challenges for the local Search and Rescue as more people are lost or injured in the vast mountain wilderness.
